Dr. Ivan Alvarez was born and raised in El Paso, TX. He attended the University of Texas at El Paso (Go Miners!), where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences. He later attended St. George's University on the beautiful island of Grenada and Louisiana State University for clinical rotations to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree. 

Dr. Alvarez is particularly interested in emergency and soft tissue surgery. 

When not at work, Dr. Alvarez enjoys running, mountain biking, hiking, playing soccer and cooking. And he has a very spoiled little mutt named Luca. If Dr. Alvarez were an animal himself, he’d be a capybara since they’re social, have a calm demeanor and love water.
